The jobless economy: a fully automated, engineered, robotic system that doesn’t need you, or me either. Anything we can do, machines can do better — surgery, warfare, farming, finance. What’s to do? Shall we smash the machines, or go to the beach, or finally learn to play the piano?
Economists predict that 50% of US jobs could be automated in a decade or two. Big fun show with...

I personally believe that we are carrying technology too far. We are overdoing what what was ment to be a helpful tool.
and again, I agree with yoko.

Thank you Teo
Machines have taken over, and if we do nothing about it unemployment will increase.
Thank you again Teo,
This will be a major problem.
Machines are replacing people.
This is happening right now, and will continue.
Oh joy.. I DID find more! Lucky you!

As technology continues to accelerate and machines begin taking care of themselves, fewer people will be necessary. Artificial intelligence is already well on its way to making “good jobs” obsolete: many paralegals, journalists, office workers, and even computer programmers are poised to be replaced by robots and smart software. As progress continues, blue and white collar jobs alike will evaporate, squeezing working- and middle-class families ever further. At the same time, households are under assault from exploding costs, especially from the two major industries—education and health care—that, so far, have not been transformed by information technology. The result could well be massive unemployment and inequality as well as the implosion of the consumer economy itself.
In Rise of the Robots, Ford details what machine intelligence and robotics can accomplish, and implores employers, scholars, and policy makers alike to face the implications. The past solutions to technological disruption, especially more training and education, aren’t going to work, and we must decide, now, whether the future will see broad-based prosperity or catastrophic levels of inequality and economic insecurity...
Love'n'light'being, Teo
There will be the rise of the robots, especially since humans are getting dumber by the minute. Robots will out smarten the human race.
Robots might very well take over somewhere in the future. I already see robots taking over jobs right now. As technology advances we will see computers far more capable and intelligent than what they are now, and humans seem to become less intelligent.
I agree with that.
I think we are heading that way. Robots will take over at some point. A lot of stuff is automated already and I am not happy to see people losing their jobs, like cashiers in stores, some food is served by robots etc.
You are absolutely right Teo, and now with this corona virus many people are out of work already. Stores are closing, on-line shopping is becoming the norm, so sad.
It seems that the jobless economy is already here.
I see more and more businesses using automated systems, especially check-out in stores. People no longer do those jobs. Now since corona more people are out of work and automation will not give many people employment.
We are happily opening up a bit now, however, many businesses are out of business for good. What a sad situation for people who lost all their savings and are too old to go back to school to learn a new trade.
I have to agree with all of you, the jobless economy is certainly here.
The economy seems quite dismal at the moment. many businesses have closed
permanently. Let us hope that there will not be any new restrictions to
destroy the economy even more.
I still see a lot of stores going out of business. So sad.
You are probably right Teo, seeing how things are going now.
Many people are still out of work and so many businesses have closed down. I think it will take a while to things to get normal again.
I think you are right as you explain in your original post. Humans will soon find that they will be taken over by AI, and computers will do a lot of the work.
Stores are still going out of business. And you are right yoko, AI will take over a lot of jobs.
Thank you yoko for bringing back Teo's post.
AI will take over a number of jobs.
Thank you again Teo. The world is getting poorer by the minute.
