Nice quote:
I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck.
- Emma Goldman
Thank you.
Love,
yoko
Isn't that a great quote! It's the truth too! Hope it wasn't posted already. Went through them but didn't see it. Jewelry doesn't thrill me like roses, or any other flower, plant, grass etc! I know there are others here also who feel the same! One day I will figure out how to post the pictures. I know the ones on my computer are too large, just have to take the time to resize some to a bit smaller!
Love to you..and to all!
You are right Sandy, a necklace of roses is far superior to one made of stones, or whatever is in fashion.

As a lovesick nightingale, you flew among the owls.
Then came the scent of the rosegarden
and you flew off to meet the Rose.
Rumi
This rose is in my garden and I thought that I had lost it, but I kept watering it and feeding it and now it has a nice tall branch with a bud. I am so happy, since it is one of my favourite roses, that has been with me for a long time.
Love, Inda

Dear Sandy, I am also very happy that your beautiful rose is on Givnology.
Welcome back to Givnology.
It is really nice to see you.
Thank you for the nice quote and the beautiful rose.
How wonderful to have a necklace of roses.
Have a wonderful summer.
Love,
Vicky
I love your roses, and yes, I would rather have a necklace of roses.
Love,
Sue
and caused it to laugh in full-blown beauty,
He said to my heart,
and made it a hundred times more beautiful.
Rumi
Yes, but where leaves the Rose of Yesterday?
And this first Summer month that brings the Rose
Shall take Jamshyd and Kaikobád away.
Omar Khayyam
For the moss rose and the musk rose,
Maiden-blush and royal-dusk rose,-
"What glory then for me
In such a company?-
Roses plenty, roses plenty
And one nightingale for twenty?"
- Quotes Elizabeth Barrett Browning
The world has acclaimed it for
centuries. Pink roses are for love
hopeful and expectant. White roses
are for love dead or forsaken,
but the red roses, ah the red roses
are for love triumphant.
Unknown
Roses red and violets blew,
And all the sweetest flowres
that in the forrest grew.
- Quotes Edmund Spenser
They are all starting to bloom in my garden,
somewhat late this year due to the cold spring that we had.
...From th moment you came into the manifest world,
a ladder was offered for your escape.
From mineral substance you became a living plant,
and later a roving animal. Is this a secret?
Afterwards, as a human being,
you developed reason, consciousness, faith,
See how the body has risen from the dust like a rose...

I will bring you roses.
I too have been covered with thorns.”
― Rumi

Roses are still blooming, and they will do so until the frost.
“Pull the thorn of existence out of the heart! Fast!
For when you do, you will see thousands of rose gardens in yourself.”
― Rumi

“When the rose is gone and the garden faded
you will no longer hear the nightingale's song.
The Beloved is all; the lover just a veil.
The Beloved is living; the lover a dead thing.
If love withholds its strengthening care,
the lover is left like a bird without care,
the lover is left like a bird without wings.
How will I be awake and aware
if the light of the Beloved is absent?
Love wills that this Word be brought forth.”
― Rumi, Teachings of Rumi
Roses are starting to bloom.
They are one of my favourite flowers, although I love flowers in general.
Roses fortunately last with us a little longer than the beautiful short lasting spring and very early summer flowers.
I like to bring roses into my apartment whenever I can.

Thank you for bringing back the roses. I love roses as well, and you are right, they are starting to bloom.
Thank you for all these wonderful images.
Roses are one of my favourite flowers as well.
What Was Said to the Rose
What was said to the rose that made it open
was said to me here in my chest.
What was told the Cypress that made it strong
and straight, what was
whispered the jasmine so it is what it is, whatever made
sugarcane sweet, whatever
was said to the inhabitants of the town of Chigil in
Turkestan that makes them
so handsome, whatever lets the pomegranate flower blush
like a human face, that is
being said to me now. I blush. Whatever put eloquence in
language, that's happening here.
The great warehouse doors open; I fill with gratitude,
chewing a piece of sugarcane,
in love with the one to whom every that belongs!
Poem by Jalaluddin Rumi

Roses are a timeless thing of beauty,
and they are blooming now, and will bloomfor a long time.
Thank you Vicky for bringing back the roses thread.
They really are beautiful.
Can you find another market like this? Where, with your one rose, you can buy hundreds of rose gardens? ~Rumi
I am enlarging one of your lovely images
I do not know who lives here in my chest, or why the smile comes. I am not myself, more the bare green knob of a rose that lost every leaf and petal to the morning wind
. ~Rumi
I am enlarging your other lovely image
Thank you for all the lovely pictures.
Roses are so very beautiful.
Nice to see you back Gisele.
-I said: How long will you drag my soul around the world?
He said: Wherever I drag you, come quickly. Say nothing.
I said: While I say nothing, do you want me
to burn? Are you saying: Come in and say nothing?
He smiled like a rose and said: Come in and see.
This fire is jasmine, green leaves and roses. Say nothing.
The fire became roses and spoke. It told me:
Except for our beloved’s love and kindness, say nothing-

Come out here where the roses have opened. Let soul and world meet.
~Rumi
“You're beautiful, but you're empty...One couldn't die for you. Of course, an ordinary passerby would think my rose looked just like you. But my rose, all on her own, is more important than all of you together, since she's the one I've watered. Since she's the one I put under glass, since she's the one I sheltered behind the screen. Since she's the one for whom I killed the caterpillars (except the two or three butterflies). Since she's the one I listened to when she complained, or when she boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing at all. Since she's my rose.”
Antoine de Saint-Exuperi from "The Little Prince."
“But this rose is an extra. Its smell and its color are an embellishment of life, not a condition of it. It is only goodness which gives extras, and so I say again that we have much to hope from the flowers.”
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
My roses are all beginning to bloom, and they are full of buds.
“She cast her fragrance and her radiance over me. I ought never to have run away from her... I ought to have guessed all the affection that lay behind her poor little stratagems. Flowers are so inconsistent! But I was too young to know how to love her...”
― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
