May you find yourself in the world…and may you enjoy the company!
A pipe:

Gives a wise man something to think on

And a fool something to stick in his mouth

My great grandfather lived to be 100, and smoked his cigars into his 80s. My theory is: It is not that Big Tobacco makes harmful tobacco, it is that Big Tobacco makes tobacco harmful! Do you know all the additives in popular cigarettes? Wow! And smoking through plastic filters? A little relaxing puff turned into a dangerous drug...

Well The Church and the great visionary composer Bach have given me solace, in a song by Bach called "Tobackrauchers" about smoking. Here is the translation into English, the song in a short clip, the full song, and a Word document of the lyrics in English and German.

In Native American spirituality if you don't leave a tobacco gift the spirits don't listen to you. Peace pipe? In many spiritual healing practices the healer blows smoke right onto the ailment. Pork is "cured" by tobacco smoke. Perhaps there is something there that we don't know so much about...

PLEASE LEAVE SMOKING TO MATURE PEOPLE

quote:
Tobachrauchers, by Bach

Whene’er my trusty pipe
With fine tobacco I fill,
And look forward to passing a pleasant hour
Then it shows me a dismal picture,
And adds the sobering moral
That I’m really not up to much.

When I’ve got the pipe lit up
Then I see that in the twinkling of an eye
The smoke vanishes in thin air,
Leaving nothing behind but the ash behind.
Human fame is just as short-lived,
We die, and our bodies turn to dust.

How often does it happen,
When you’re smoking,
That you don’t have your temper at hand,
So you use your finger instead.
And then, when I’ve burnt myself, I think:
Goodness, if embers bring such pain,
Then how hot is Hell going to be?

With things of this nature I’m able
Whene’er I enjoy my tobacco
To be struck by edifying thoughts.
And so contentedly I puff,
On land, at sea and in my house,
Reverently at my baccy-pipe.

Peace and Pipes.

Some peeps likes pipes.
sOME peeps no like.
All peeps should like peace.
But some peeps no like?
Maybe if they tried pipes
they might see peace more clearly?
Maybe not?

Me no like pipes but will light up for peace.
As a gesture of ONEness with my peeps I will
breath in the essence of the second hand first hand and have done so on many occasions with my peeps.

To each his and her own. But let there be peace in the AIr,,,and if some peeps come to bring peace with a pipe in their hand....smile,,and pass the J or pass on the J,,,but don't pass up the opportunity to be at peace with your brothers and sisters.

If Sitting Bull offered us a puff on the peace pipe would we lecture him on the perils of second logic? Not I. I'd be a puff'n and a smoke'n and a hack cough'n with my peeps in the name of peace. U ? Rasta
