Ling-Ling Dies Suddenly

Ling-Ling, the female half of the National Zoo's fuzzy and beloved pair of rare giant pandas, died suddenly yesterday of unknown causes. She was 23, the oldest of her kind living in captivity outside China.

A keeper who went to fetch her for the 3 p.m. feeding discovered Ling-Ling's body in the outdoor yard of the panda compound, the zoo's most-visited attraction. Zoo spokesman Mike Morgan said she apparently had collapsed suddenly, because the dirt where she lay was undisturbed.

May Ling-Ling enjoy herself forever with all the pandas wherever she is.

that is followed by a new awakening.

Thank you for sharing the sad news yoko.
May Ling-Ling be surrounded with joy and bliss.

Ling-Ling was a mother a few times, but none of her offsprings survived more than a few days. Now Ling-Ling can play with her little cubs.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by...

Thank you Inda and Sylvie for your prayers for Ling-Ling.

I am always sad when an endangered species cannot leave an offspring on earth. May she enjoy her cubs in the nice place where she is.

Thank you yoko.

I read about Ling-Ling in the paper and I really felt sad about losing another panda. There are so few left.

Praying for Ling-Ling to be surrounded with love and peace.

Love,
Vicky

Heaven

Think of-

Stepping on shore, and finding it Heaven!
Of taking hold of a hand, and finding it God's hand.
Of breathing a new air, and finding it celestial air.
Of feeling invigorated, and finding it immortality.
Of passing from storm to tempest to an unbroken calm.
Of waking up, and finding it home.
