Reply to "Albert Einstein Quotes"

Teo's axe quote reminds me of how in the Scorcese bit I alluded to, Pete Seeger said he nearly took an axe to Dylan's microphone cable when Dylan went electric at the Newport Folk festival in '65.

To think that Einstein checked out in the early fifties around the McCarthy era, just about when Sinatra was hot and Harry S. Truman was willing to be where the buck stopped. A big band can be relatively loud too.

Uncle Albert rest his soul was not so interested in bucks. There is a dear deer, a not so young buck who comes by here who has been a bit wheezy lately and he's been drinking the water I leave out for him. We're entering our warm if not hot stove period now. LA is relatively unlucky.

There were few missing potent quotes on your long list. He was a famous peacenik.

One has to thank anyone who lets everyone use something with permission for giving permission. That's relatively cool. It's all relative. Thanks Kevin Harris wherever you are.

Some say one nuclear family can spoil your whole life - while one nuclear weapon can merely spoil your whole day (or your lawn depending on the bumper sticker).

Someone told me that one of my sometime Einstein quotation bumper stickers had a misquote on it about war not being stopped by those who start them in so many words and allegedly the wrong ones. I'm sure it was close enough for all practical purposes. That's another subject of Einstein's - defining the phrase "for all practical purposes."

Thanks again Inda. There is a reason Einstein is the paradigm he is to all of us who love him. He was pretty smart and well intentioned too, and well quoted and remembered. It all counts. N'est-ce pas?
