May you find yourself in the world…and may you enjoy the company!
I have recently discovered that I have no answers. Perhaps more importantly I have found that my need for answers has lessened and that questions provide a means of deepening involvement with the riddles of the self and the world unfolding.
In a world of change can a single answer ever provide a lasting understanding? Once we hold solid to the fluid truth of a given moment we are immediately confronted with the suffering of a clinging hold to an illusive substance. No answer is lasting. And even questions must fall away to the silence after thought.
Having an answer to grasp is to cut ourselves off to the after that falls past every now. Can we differentiate an ending from a beginning? The beginning from the end? Once born…we shall die. Death is present from the start and a continuation is a promise only to an open mind. In our clear sky nature we may see forever in the mirror of the world. Boundaries belong to the limits of man.
If we search for clear lines in a world of continuity we will always look in vain. When did we cease being a child? When does a sapling become a tree? Is there a precise point of becoming?
Does it matter?
Perhaps just knowing that everything is ending and beginning, solid and fluid, flowing and ebbing in the now of every moment is enough to see us through another day.
It’s what we have after all.
Perhaps it’s all we need.

Love,
Eric

Thank you Eric.

This is a very deep and interesting post.

The Buddha said:

About the nature of reality I cannot speak-
an artist without hands
draws pictures in the sky,
without eyes sees myriad things
in perfect vision without movement or strain.

I cannot see the answer to this.

As you said:

Perhaps just knowing that everything is ending and beginning, solid and fluid, flowing and ebbing in the now of every moment is enough to see us through another day.
It’s what we have after all.
Perhaps it’s all we need.

It probably is all that we need.

Does it matter?
"..it matter.." all matter falls into entropy hum? Life, what we consider sacred, is reverse entropy, or going against the natural entropy, dropping and dissappearing of all physical things. All matter fades. So.. "Does it matter?" if something is a matter, then it is only for a (short) time.

What I think is beautiful and eternal in us humans is when we make the break from supposed "matters" and look, question, quest, search for the real keys, the matrixes and synchronicities that go against matter - reverse entropies.

Sometimes people reading about detachment, the ego self dying, they get all confused and even upset. In some ways this means that they are ready for transformative information! RaisedBrows

Many doctrines of self-mastery say that until one is completely fed up with the shallow answers that they have been given, only when they are really truly searching, only then are they ready to begin.

I say all this to say that I truly agree with your ideas here dear Eric. Regarding when the seed becomes the tree, there is a "_ness" that is the key. It is always a tree, always a seed, in it's being or beingness or ESSENCE. This never changes, and we can guess and speculate forever but essence is what never changes. We are a child, grow up, but are still a child, a child is grown up compared to an embreyo, we are children compared to someone who is 100 years old. It is all relative!

People who say they have all the answers should be watched out for! Answers are, as you said,"not lasting." Here is even more blabology, digression, whatever you want to call it, but I soooo love these discussions... because we can discuss! Hear:

The unknowable.

I think about this sometimes, and if something is truly unknowable, then when you scratch the surface and find that you think you know something about it, it changes, hum? The best we can do is keep circling around what we are pretty sure of, and gather as much useful information as we can, knowing that regularly everything turns around and we need to reevaluate it all anyway! Grasping hints of truths, sharing what is useful and knowing that at any time they will change anyway.

The other issue is: PERSPECTIVE.

One person's truth is another person's lie! A tree with a disease it would spread to another should be cut down. Good. To an animal living in it, bad. Maybe it finds another healthier tree to live in. Good. Someone cuts down too many trees, bad. For new growing things the lack of trees is good. It is all perspective, and there are as many perspectives and there are points in the universe hum?

So questions is a great achievement. I like how it has the word "quest" built right in! Some things are obvious and require simple material knowing. The "riddles of the self and the world unfolding" require a type of quest to find what is best, at a given time. Questing well is the best we can ask for! Questioning, this is our process. So you shared some quest(ion)ing, and I'm sharing what I've found "along the way"... he he.. CoolDance And together we all quest(ion) well!
