May you find yourself in the world…and may you enjoy the company!
Humans are causing damage to the atmosphere. The world is heating up incredibly. There will be more droughts and rainstorms, as well as more violent typhoons and hurricanes. The global average air and ocean temperatures have increased. There is melting of snow and ice, and the sea levels are rising.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has suggested the following:

Sea ice will shrink in the Arctic and Antarctic. late summer sea ice could disappear almost entirely at the end of the 21st Century.

Heat waves, droughts and rainstorms will continue.

The number of hurricanes will decrease, but the ones that do occur will be more powerful.

Ocean currents responsible for the Gulf Stream will slow by as much as 25%.

Sea levels will rise, and the Greenland ice sheet will be eliminated.

All this goes to show that human beings are not the kindest or most considerate beings on the earth.

Thank you Sue.
Humans are responsible for most of the problems that we have on the earth. We are not very responsible in taking care of, and protecting all the beautiful things that we have been given.

One step that will help is reducing CO2 emissions by increasing the use of energy efficient technologies and renewable energy resources like wind and solar power are necessary steps in the effort to slow global warming. This should have been done a lot more, long ago.

Love,
Vicky 2Hearts

Thank you for sharing this disturbing news Sue.

Humans should have done something long ago.
all this is very serious; at least our prime minister seems to think so.

Thank you Sue.

Humans have done a lot of harm to the environment, and to the earth in general. It all makes me very sad.

remember to turn down your heating by just one number, make sure your tv is not on standby at night or any other appliance and change your electricity over to a green company. The Polar Bear is in threat due to the ice melting due to global warming and they have to swim for miles looking for a safe piece of ice for them to climb onto to rest. There is so little ice around they are drowning so have a thought for the polar bear and take global warming seriously for this and many other reasons.

Thank you for your replies.

There is more information here:

Human activities contribute to climate change by causing changes in Earth’s atmosphere in the amounts of greenhouse gases, aerosols (small particles), and cloudiness. The largest known contribution comes from the burning of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide gas to the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases and aerosols affect climate by altering incoming solar radiation and out-
going infrared (thermal) radiation that are part of Earth’s energy balance. Changing the atmospheric abundance or properties of these gases and particles can lead to a warming or cooling of the climate system. Since the start of the industrial era (about 1750), the overall effect of human activities on climate has been a warming influence. The human impact on climate during this era greatly exceeds that due to known changes in natural processes, such as solar changes and volcanic eruptions.
