Tulsi, or Holy Basil is revered as the "Elixir of Life" in Ayurvedic circles. Tulsi is related to the Basil that we use in cooking.

Tulsi's healing powers were recognized centuries ago. Tulsi is believed to strengthen the immune system, increasing antibody production. It is used to treat stress, inflammation, heart disease, digestive disorders and the common cold.

A simple tea infusion is the best way to absorb Tulsi's benefits, which include overall well- being, improved stamina and endurance, and increased spiritual energy. It is available in tea bags in Ayurvedic and Indian markets.

Thank you dear Inda for sharing this. I have Basil growing on my balcony and we often use it in the Tomato sauce for spaghetti or other pasta. Or on mozzarella and tomato. The fragrance is very strong and I love it.
The Ancient Romans used it too.

The season is here once again to start to plant fresh basil plants. My secret to a successful basil plant is to make sure that I plant my basil in large separate planters. Ifind that the basil do extremely well when they blossom in planters as opposed to in a garden. Basil plants require partial sunlight and lots of water. Basil plants that are exposed to too much sun can cause yellow discoloration in addition to drying out your basil. Watering your basil plants is very important as well as removing or trimming the basil white flower heads that protrude from the tips. Make sure you plant enough basil for all your favorite dishes, drying basil and freezing basil for the winter.

Love and health! Margherita Smile
