Ascension Science

Astronauts of the soul ascend upwards by nurturing themselves as much as they would love a helpless babe. The body feels increasingly light and the mind increasingly clear. They rocket beyond faith into the science of conscious evolution.

The throat chakra is the seat of expression and alchemy. To have the kundalini move to this point, we must freely express our hearts, our insights, our shame and guilt until the past no longer holds us back. Then we become endlessly creative.

Once having distilled all that primal energy so that it rises through all the upper chakras, keep it in mind that all that glowing prana can then descend again to purify the more earthy nature and make us more ethereal top to bottom.

There is often conflict among yogis about the motion of prana in relation to the motion of the breath. Some suggest that the prana is drawn down through the Crown of Brahmin with the inbreath. Others would have us believe that it rises from the base chakra throught the upper chakras with the inbreath and the prana is drawn back in from the cosmic void with the outbreath.

It may seem contradictory. The thing about visualizations is that they tend to be idealized projections of how the psychic (as opposed to the physical) nervous system works.

When I have experienced those unusual states of mind from breath-of-fire practice or from bhastrika (bellows like breath) - I have surmised that the distillation of the prana in fact moves both ways at once.

My advice would be to look for yourselves. The keynote here is that it is a distillation process, that prana not only ascends but concurrently it percolates downward to be distilled upwards once again.

Rather than seeing this through belief it may be more rewarding to develop a sense of prana through actual awareness.

The difference is that we believe what we want to believe and we are aware of what actually is - like breathing out and breathing in.

Thank you for sharing Teo.

I enjoyed your reply Nick.

"The kingdom of God is within." --Luke 17:21

The crown opens as the ego stops resisting; we allow powerful energy to flow up through our heads. We have moved well beyond the cycle of struggle. Heaven is where we are. Our bodies move closer to the frequency of light (ascension).

"Lightness of Heart equals lightness of body.
Aim for the moon. Miss and become a star."

"First seek ye the kingdom of God;
and all else shall be added unto you." --Luke 12:31

You may experience time travel in deep meditation, lucid dreaming, and sometimes in a genuine déjà vu experience (when consciousness suddenly awakens beyond the mental plane).

You can also experience time travel in conscious ecstasy. You connect with the multidimensional self that joyfully guides your personality. Your third eye opens and dimensions unfold before you and within.

As time dissolves, life's mysteries unfold.
When time disappears, time travel becomes meaningless.

If you seek time travel as an escape or to control events, then the visions will be clouded. Realize that the past and future are contained in the present. All wisdom comes from heaven--now.

I like to think that on my in breath I am breathing in, and on my out breath my environment is breathing (my breath) in! Nut

In the graphic from Meditate.com notice an arrow up on one side and an arrow down on the other, like yin and yang both things (and thinks) are probably true. In other words, chi/prana life force building up with each in breath, but in another way, being released with each in breath, hey, some organs probably like the oxygen, some probably are fueled by the lack of it. Roll Eyes

In the MCO (microcosmic orbit) chi comes up the spine/chakras/endocrine gland system, this usually takes a few minutes at least, and then when it connects on the top a shower of chi comes back down the front of the body, fueling reservoirs upper=brain, middle=heart, lower=abdomen. I sometimes visualize this happening with every breath, as Nick said: "...we believe what we want to believe..."

Since you brought up breath... Living things sort of enjoy that in breath right? The last thing spirit might experience might be out breath, so we might identify with the in-breath fueling us, but spirit might identify with the out-breaths! Ghost Yum

And we haven't even mentioned how many people believe each nostril is a different kind of breath! Aaah Eek Juggle

In the chakra page here @ Givnology I used a top-down approach, sort of trying to help us identify with our eternal spirit that "came down here" to be living mammals. That spirit would likely experience the out-breath more than we do, and that's where on level 6 going up or level 2 coming down, THE THIRD EYE CHAKRA (or the pituitary endocrine gland) represents the balance or awareness of both at once, HA and KSHA are the 2 petals of Ajna Chakra, the 2 sanscrit letters, Ha=breath and Ksha=loop of body, well Ha would be out-breath.. hmm... you CAN make the ha sound with an in-breath..

So much focus on breath, well, like focusing on it for meditation - at least I stopped thinking about the rest of the world for a minute! Applause Angel Laughing

Thanks for the great thread "you guys."

I appreciated this one Teo. I'll paste it here for emphasis since it sums up what I was getting at:

"In the MCO (microcosmic orbit) chi comes up the spine/chakras/endocrine gland system, this usually takes a few minutes at least, and then when it connects on the top a shower of chi comes back down the front of the body, fueling reservoirs upper=brain, middle=heart, lower=abdomen"

Seeing is believing.

There is "devolution" if it is in someone's karma, and there can be "prana stealing" and "reverse tantra" etcetera, but I think the distillation and cleansing approach is all positive both up and down through the median and right and left psychic nerve channels.

It's like the theme of good overcoming evil, of love overcoming hatred and mistrust.

Isn't it remarkable how religious texts are filled with yogic imagery including the western bible and the so-called secular works by some of the Chinese taoist philosophers and the buddhists who are sometimes thought of as a - theistic? All are ones, as I like to say.

I love the Guru and Chela on the lotus leaf, Vicky. I feel like I'm in the Shaolin Temple and it finally has gone Co-ed!

I enjoyed your environmental prana metaphor Teo. I quite concur with it. What was the name of that artist you recently turned me on to with the visualizations of the manifestations of the psychic nervous system?

The illustraton you provided is the "conventional" one for the chakras. It still works for that basic depiction of the psychic nervous system as being something other than a bunch of assymetrical gooey and somewhat ugly looking organs (at least if we were to dissect ourselves).

Eventually we'll all make ashes of ourselves or be buried and we'll become part of the soil. We are the environment. Lately it seems our automobiles have been doing too much breath of fire.

Maybe we're averting the oncoming ice age. We must be winning. God needs a damned big piece of kleenex to blow His Nose. With all the smoke in the air She has been doing lots of anulima vilima (alternate breathing) and lots of ujayi pranayama (the exercise that gets the snot outa ya). I suggest looking it up because there are variations of ujayi which is generally a circular pattern sometimes in or out of one nostril and sometimes in or out of both nostils as part of a bigger cycle.

It's better than antihistimines. It is allergy season. Get out your yoga mats.

Inda, your links are the greatest. That one is in the Tools and Reference folder now. It's Memorial Day Weekend here in the States. On this track we have poetry music art motion postures and lotsa insight. You could call it the Inda Five Hundred - everyone who visits should complete the circuit without a crash or mechanical failure.

Thanks again Teo for the specification chart for the wiring harness.
