Foolishness

Tears shed over broken dreams
Seeking refuge in darkness,
Through glass enters a moonbeam
Revealing my emptiness.

Drunk I am, but not of wine,
In this state of loneliness
Drinking on, time over time
Cups of my own foolishness!

How could the sun shine on me,
After calling on the clouds ?
Will forgiveness come to me?
As your hurt cries out loud...

Us, freely I have murdered
Selfish ways stab the deepest!
When nothing but lies is heard
Respect becomes the hardest!

Exorcising my demons
Is all there is left to do...
Are they not the true reason
That lead to the loss of you ?
