Reply to "Dante Alighieri"

Thank you dear Inda for including our Great Dante Alighieri here! Thank you Vicky and Sue for your contributions.

Having studied Dante at the Lyceum, my husband still knows parts of the Divine Comedy by heart, I think it is amazing, because the language is really not easy to memorize, being quite different from modern Italian.

See here the evolution ...

quote:
The Italian language was a result of the genius of Dante to create an acceptable amalgamation of the various dialects into a masterfully consistent language for use throughout Italy.

The beautiful Italian language

quote:
Consider your origin; you were not born to live like brutes, but to follow virtue and knowledge.

Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy

VIRTUE AND KNOWLEDGE ... may we follow this PATH, ALWAYS!

Love and Light.
