May you find yourself in the world…and may you enjoy the company!
MARCH
by Emily Dickinson

Dear March, come in!
How glad I am!
I looked for you before.
Put down your hat-
You must have walked-
How out of breath you are!
Dear March, how are you?
And the rest?
Did you leave Nature well?
Oh, March, come right upstairs with me,
I have so much to tell.

BIRD SONGS

Oh, there's music in the forests
And there's music in the glen,
As the birds are warbling greetings
To the spring that's come again.

All their piping is so merry
That the woodlands seem to ring,
With the praises of the birdsongs
For the coming of the spring.
Join the joyous woodland chorus
And raise high your voice in cheer,
Join the birdsongs in thanksgiving
For the springtime of the year!

Bloom in grace!

At first there was silence
as if Nature held her breath
in thrilling peacefulness,
before raising her voice
to chant the glory
of creation.

Then a deep long sound
accompanied the awakening,
vibrating and echoing
throughout the air,
caressing the bare ground
and the naked trees.

Now every infinitesimal particle
of every tiny seed
answers the divine call
becoming part of the orchestra,
starting the growth of buds,
of blades of grass and of leaves.

A balmy breeze joins the tune
making the world dance
in feverish creativity.
All of life is invited to celebrate
renewal and rebirth,
Our hearts are invited too.

Universal beauty unfolds
while the message of Spring
is diffused by Nature
and by all of its creatures.
Souls merge in deep devotion
and sing the song of Love.

For just a while be still and listen!
Synchronize your breath
with the heartbeat
and with the breath of Universe!
Answer the call
and bloom in grace!

I just listened and felt inspired to write these words.
Love and joy.

All things shall melt and turn into songs when Spring comes. Even the stars, the vast snowflakes that fall slowly upon the larger fields, shall melt into singing streams. When the sun of His face shall arise above the wider horizon, then what frozen symmetry would not turn into liquid melody?

Spring has finally arrived and I thought it might be nice to bring back this beautiful thread.

Love,

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.

~Percy Bysshe Shelley, "The Sensitive Plant"

Thank you Sue for bringing back this thread.
It is still a bit cold here today, but my early spring flowers are blooming, and they will always be beautiful.
This is my favourite season. Everything is delicate and fresh.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever:
It's loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness.

Spring Quiet

Christina Rossetti (1847)

Gone were but the Winter,
Come were but the Spring,
I would go to a covert
Where the birds sing.

Where in the whitethom
Singeth a thrush,
And a robin sings
In the holly-bush.

Full of fresh scents
Are the budding boughs
Arching high over
A cool green house:

Full of sweet scents,
And whispering air
Which sayeth softly:
“We spread no snare;

“Here dwell in safety,
Here dwell alone,
With a clear stream
And a mossy stone.

“Here the sun shineth
Most shadily;
Here is heard an echo
Of the far sea,
Though far off it be.”

When I open the door in the morning, everything is fresh and covered with springtime dew.

Eleanor Farjean

Morning Has Broken

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

...Today
among the scent
of new mango blossoms,

amid the rustling notes
of fresh stems bursting forth,

under the nectar-sprinkled moon rays
in the sky
in tearful delight,

by whose touch am I delighted
in this fragrance-laden agitated breeze?

Today spring is awake at the door,
in your veiled, shy life
please don't frustrate her.

Open up the petals of your heart today,
Forget today who is Yours,
who is not.

Put out your scent in waves into the sky
that is already resounding with songs...

Rabindranath Tagore

We are all longing for spring,
and now it is almost here.

All things shall melt and turn into songs when Spring comes. Even the stars, the vast snowflakes that fall slowly upon the larger fields, shall melt into spring streams. When the sun of His face shall rise above the wider horizon, then what frozen symmetry would not turn into liquid melody? And who among you would not be the cup-bearer to the myrtle and the laurel?

Rumi

This is what I see
The world is green,
and everywhere there is a garden.
I see your face,
luminous like a rose,
I see you happy,
You are laughing
Everywhere there is a gem,
inflamed from the Beloved's mine.
Everywhere there is a soul,
connected to anothe soul.

I love that little squirrel as well.
I hope that spring is finally here and that we don't suddenly get plunged into extreme summer heat.

Spring comes on the World -- by Emily Dickinson

Spring comes on the World --
I sight the Aprils --
Hueless to me until thou come
As, till the Bee
Blossoms stand negative,
Touched to Conditions
By a Hum.

Spring is here and it is getting warmer.
The sun is also bright and I see all sorts of little animals running in the park.

You whispered in my ears like early spring:
"I am the call of Love,
can you hear me in the full grasses,
in the scented winds,
it is I who makes the garden smile."

Did you hear that winter’s over? The basil
and the carnations cannot control their

laughter. The nightingale, back from his
wandering, has been made singing master

over the birds. The trees reach out their
congratulations. The soul goes dancing

through the king’s doorway. Anemones blush
because they have seen the rose naked.

Spring, the only fair judge, walks in the
courtroom, and several December thieves steal

away, Last year’s miracles will soon be
forgotten. New creatures whirl in from non-

existence, galaxies scattered around their
feet. Have you met them? Do you hear the

bud of Jesus crooning in the cradle? A single
narcissus flower has been appointed Inspector

of Kingdoms. A feast is set. Listen: the
wind is pouring wine! Love used to hide

inside images: no more! The orchard hangs
out its lanterns. The dead come stumbling by

in shrouds. Nothing can stay bound or be
imprisoned. You say, “End this poem here,

and wait for what’s next.” I will. Poems
are rough notations for the music we are.

Dear Margherita,

Thank you for all the beautiful spring images.

We had a very cold winter and it is very good to see spring in all its beauty.

Spring has actually arrived here now with Magnolia trees, and other trees in bloom. This is my favourite season. Everything is young and fresh, and the colours are soft and delicate.
