Orchids are astonishingly beautiful and exotic flowers. They evolved from the wild, being native to the tropics and subtropics.

As Rumi says:
When the seeds are buried deep in the earth and you act like a gardner cultivating beautiful orchids, your inward secrets will one day bloom and bring lasting beauty to your garden.

Orchids really are very different.
They may be striped, dotted etc.
They may have ruffled edges, frilly edges; they may be flat, may be cupped; some are spiked and other have all sorts of dangling threads and appendages. The size of the flowers varies greatly as well, and so does the height of different orchids. Whatever they are, they are all beautiful.

Here is one that looks very different again.
